Application of a magnetic card
Part III. Warehouse and archives of the office

As everyone knows, the warehouse is a place in the office where office supplies and equipment are stored. All warehouse employees bear financial responsibility for its condition and the items in it. That is why it is important that only the employees entitled to it were in the room and it was possible to identify them quickly.
On the other hand, the company’s archive is the place where archival documentation is stored, ie files and documents, correspondence, financial and personnel documentation, etc. requiring proper recording, storage and protection against damage, destruction or loss. Therefore, as in the case of a warehouse, access to archive rooms should only be granted to persons authorized to do so.
In the past, access to the premises where the warehouse or company archives were located was controlled in a traditional way using locks and keys. However, it was associated with many inconveniences. First of all, the key is quite easy to earn, which increased the risk of unauthorized access to these rooms. In turn, losing the key often forced the exchange of the lock, and sometimes even the whole door. The technological solution to these problems is the laminated magnetic cards resistant to breaking or destruction during use, which improve the system of access control to the warehouse or the company’s archives and the reading of data on them by means of a reader. Magnetic stripe cards allow entry only to authorized employees (quick identification) and allow to determine who and at what time he was staying in a given room. As a result, the cards eliminate the possibility of entering a warehouse or archive of persons without the rights granted, thus limiting the risk of losing property or important documents.
Magnetic stripe cards are also useful when authorizing and issuing warehouse documents related to the collection of goods from a warehouse by a specific employee. They improve the process of issuing goods from the warehouse and shorten the queues. In the event of a mistake, thanks to magnetic cards, it is easier to fix the error.
To sum up, both in the case of a warehouse and maintaining a company archive, a magnetic card will work perfectly as a means of control.
